I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Maryville College in Maryville, TN.

My sub-fields are International Relations, Comparative Politics, and Middle Eastern Studies.

My work largely focuses on human rights. I am especially interested in refugees and host-state repression. I also focus on international and civil conflict, conflict management strategies, peace studies, and nonviolent resistance.

Prior to my employment at Maryville College, I obtained a PhD in International Affairs from the University of Georgia, a MA in Political Science from the University of Missouri, and a MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago.

In my spare time, my wife and I enjoy spending time with our daughter, traveling, and hiking with our smooth collie, Zoey.
